Dan Davis, Mayor of Manvel, Texas
Mayor Dan Davis has served as Mayor of the City of Manvel since 2023 and is passionate about building communities where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. He has been married to his wife, Erica, for more than 14 years, and together they are raising their two children, Caellum (12) and Kira (10).
Dan’s passion for supporting diverse learners is deeply personal. As parents, he and Erica have experienced firsthand the journey of advocating for a child with learning differences, discovering that every challenge often reveals unique strengths and God-given gifts. That experience has strengthened his belief that our differences should be embraced rather than hidden and that every person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Whether serving in public office, leading in his professional career, or investing in his family, Dan is committed to encouraging others, building stronger communities, and helping people recognize the value and purpose within themselves and those around them.
Roxane Johnson, Executive HR Consultant & Adjunct Professor
Roxane Johnson is an Executive HR Consultant, Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston–Clear Lake, Speaker on Differently Abled Learners, and proud mother of two sons—Ryan (22) and Reese (19). She is committed to helping people discover their strengths, challenge limiting expectations, and realize the possibilities within them.
Her personal journey took a defining turn when her youngest son, Reese, received four diagnoses in second grade: Dyslexia, ADHD, Dysgraphia, and Vitiligo. For Roxane, it was overwhelming to absorb what each diagnosis could mean for her son. For Reese, it meant navigating challenges with learning, attention, writing, and a visible skin condition at an age when he was still learning who he was and where he belonged. Roxane became his advocate, working to protect his confidence, secure the support he needed, and help him understand that his diagnoses did not define his potential. Today, Reese attends Howard University where he is a Capstone Scholar, majoring in TV and film with a goal of becoming a Director and Screenwriter who tells the stories that shine light on marginalized communities.
Roxane will share the challenges, lessons, and triumphs of her parenting journey, encouraging families to advocate for their children, nurture their gifts, and see the possibilities beyond a diagnosis.
Dr. Monique Baucham, Provost, Academic Affairs Brazosport College
Dr. Monique Baucham, Provost for Brazosport College, is a higher education professional with more than twenty years of experience serving in leadership roles across academics, student affairs, institutional effectiveness, assessment, and distance learning at colleges and universities. Throughout her career, Dr. Baucham has demonstrated a commitment to student success, academic excellence, institutional accountability, and organizational effectiveness.
As a higher education leader, Dr. Baucham has worked collaboratively across institutional divisions to strengthen academic programs, improve student outcomes, support faculty and staff, and advance institutional priorities. She believes effective leadership requires more than managing day-to-day operations; it requires understanding the broader institutional mission, developing people, using data to inform decisions, and creating a culture in which individuals and organizations can continuously improve.
She has served as a Commissioner for the Association of Biblical Higher Education and as a financial evaluator trainer. She has also served as an accreditation evaluator and team chair for the Commission on Colleges and Schools and as Treasurer for the Texas Association of Higher Education Assessment.
Dr. Baucham is particularly passionate about helping institutions respond to the changing landscape of higher education. She recognizes that today’s students have diverse educational goals, responsibilities, and pathways to completion. Her leadership interests include flexible learning opportunities, online education, workforce development, student success, academic innovation, and the integration of emerging technologies into higher education. She believes colleges and universities must continually evaluate how they serve students while ensuring that academic quality and institutional standards remain strong.
As an experienced educator, Dr. Baucham has taught online for more than fifteen years and understands the opportunities and challenges associated with distance education. Her experience as both an educator and administrator gives her a unique perspective on the importance of creating accessible and flexible educational opportunities while maintaining meaningful engagement, academic rigor, and student support.
Dr. Baucham’s academic preparation reflects her multidisciplinary approach to leadership. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Theological Studies, and a Doctor of Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction. Most recently she completed a Certificate in Scenario Based Planning from Columbia University and a Certificate in Education Management from Harvard University’s Division for Continuing Education. Her educational background allows her to draw upon principles of business, education, curriculum development, organizational leadership, and faith as she approaches complex institutional and community challenges.
Dr. Baucham is also an author and speaker with a passion for encouraging women to pursue personal growth, freedom, and wholeness. Her first book, Whole on the Outside, Hollow on the Inside, offers a Christian-based approach to addressing the difficult issues that women sometimes avoid, suppress, or choose not to confront. Through her writing and speaking, she encourages women to recognize the barriers that can prevent them from experiencing freedom and to have the courage to confront those areas with honesty, faith, and intentionality.
At the heart of Dr. Baucham’s professional and personal philosophy is a belief in the power of people to grow and institutions to improve. She is a collaborative leader who exhibits a strong passion for working across organizational boundaries to build relationships, solve problems, and achieve meaningful results. She believes effective leadership requires integrity, transparency, accountability, and a willingness to engage stakeholders in the work of creating positive change.
